The Most Anticipated Games of 2023
The Most Anticipated Games of 2023!
What’s one of the best things about starting a new year? Checking out all the new games that are due to be launched. Nothing quite beats it 😍
Let’s dive in.
Dead Space
Remember the original Dead Space? Motive Studios at EA revealed that they’ll be bringing a remake for us to dive into on January 27, 2023. And we can’t wait!
Now Dead Space isn’t for the light-hearted… I may have fallen off my chair a handful of times whilst playing the original, but it’s safe to say that despite the misfigured alien looking beasts and the jump scares, it’s a banger of a game, giving high hopes for the remake.
The remake takes away those long-winded loading screens, and Motive confirmed they’ll be adding some additional content that was actually cut out of the original. It’s also micro-transaction free, may we add.
Sons of the Forest
This highly anticipated survival game was initially supposed to release in 2022, but Endnight Games confirmed it’ll now be released on 23rd February, 2023.
FreshCut Partner UghHaley has come up clutch with this recommendation.
‘I've loved The Forest for YEARS and it's easily become one of my favorite survival stories. one of the most unique game plots I've experienced, so I know Sons of the Forest is going to be spectacular’
You’re thrown into the deep end, on a mission to find a missing billionaire on a remote island… but soon find out you’re not alone on the island and are met by cannibal-infested hellscape. What’s not to love about a terrifying open-world survival horror? 😬
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League
It’s been a long wait since Rocksteady came to the main stage, 2015 with Batman: Arkham Knight, was the last time we saw them. So you can imagine, fans are pretty hyped for this title coming May 26th, 2023.
In this game, the infamous Suicide Squad takes on the Justice League upon falling under control of the Brainiac. You’ll get to choose which character you want to play, between King Shark, Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn or Deadshot. Who’re you picking? 👀
Dead Island 2
Dead Island 2? It’s been a minute.
Coming April 28th 2023, Dambuster are giving us their take on the Dead Island franchise and its undead action. Based in LA, we’ve been promised that we’ll ‘thrive, not just survive’.
With more gore than ever, these zombie killing sprees are going to get real messy.
Alan Wake 2
Missed the Game Awards last year? Remedy revealed our first glimpse at the highly-anticipated sequel, with release date TBC.
We didn’t get to see much, but we have faith that creative director Sam Lake will make waves with Redemy’s first ever survival horror game.
Crash Team Rumble
Coming in 2023, Crash Team Rumble is a 4v4 team-based competition where the iconic villains and heroes of the legendary Crash universe battle it out to capture more wumpa fruit than the other to claim the win!
FreshCut Partner Toomie says:
I'm a big fan of everything Crash Bandicoot. Rumble brings a whole new type of Crash game being a 4v4 platformer / fighting game. It's not only a type of game we have never seen before but it includes one of my favorite franchises.
Call of Duty - Whatever it is!
Now we still don’t know what’s coming up for the next title in the Call of Duty franchise at this moment in time, but we know something will. And whatever it is, we’re there for it 🔥
Highlight rumored to be a Treyarch title, surely we’re due a Black Ops 1 remake? We can only hope.
Resident Evil 4
The remake will be hitting consoles and PC on March 24, 2023. Set to preserve the essence of the original game with a reimagined story line and some modernized gameplay, we’re preparing to be delivered with some next-level gameplay!
Hades II
Hades II, early access coming in 2023, is the sequel to the rogue-like dungeon crawler Hades. Supergiant Games released the reveal trailer not too long ago, and it’s looking pretty epic.
Now, fans are slightly skeptical knowing that Supergiant don’t usually do sequels… so this one has to be something special, right? 😳
Street Fighter: 6
Remember how hype it was when Capcom dropped the trailer for SF6? 🔥
It really does feel like Capcom has a clear direction here. They’ve even added a story mode for those who prefer to play single player, WIN. The fighting game community is hanging onto this one, so fingers crossed launch goes smoothly! Coming June 2nd, 2023.
Diablo 4
Diablo 4 is coming June 6th, 2023. YAY!
There’ll be more monsters, more abilities, and legendary loot than ever. We’ll also have cross-play and couch co-op, which is a nice feature to have.
Will you survive and conquer darkness, or succumb to the shadows? 💀
The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
We all know it’s going to be extremely tough to go one up on Breath of the Wild, but if anyone’s going to do it, it’ll be Nintendo.
Fan expectations are high, but we know Nintendo can come up clutch. We’ve yet to see much gameplay, but the stills we have seen look nothing less than magnificent. Can we fast forward time pls?
Hogwarts Legacy
Harry Potter fans x Gamers… February 10th, 2023, could literally be the best day ever.
Whilst Hogwarts Legacy isn’t a direct adaption of the original Harry Potter story, it does take a ton of inspiration from the lore.
Another title that’s been delayed on numerous occasions, but we’re out here knowing it’ll be worth the wait. You’ll be playing as a student (customizable) at Hogwarts in the early 19th Century, with heaps to explore in this open-world RPG title.
Starfield
I feel like we’ve been waiting FOREVER for something like Starfield to arrive on our consoles. Bethesda was supposed to launch this in November 2022, but it’s been pushed back to 2023.
Bethesda are renowned kings of the RPG world, and we’ve all got high hopes for this. Starfield is a gigantic open world game, waiting for us to explore. There’s a ton of character options and the ability to collect a space crew. To me, it seems like Mass Effect meets Fallout… I couldn’t think of a better pair really?
